THE XIV DALAI LAMA
Right: (Kyabje) Choden Rinpoche
(Kyabje) Choden Rinpoche was chosen to serve as one of two debating-partners hailing from Sera monastery for the occasion of the XIVth Dalai Lama's public Geshe-examinations in 1959. Despite an interlude of many years, when reunited in exile, both the Dalai Lama and Kyabje Chöden Rinpoche remembered the episode with fondness and in detail—according to Rinpoche, the Dalai Lama displayed a nimble mind and remarkable acuity during the examinations.
Gyalten Khen Rinpoche was born June 27, 1966 in Bomdia and moved to Lhasa, Tibet. While in his mother’s womb he received his Dharma name, Tseten Gelek, from H. E. Choden Rinpoche. His grandmother, mother and father had irreversible great faith for and devotion to H. E. Choden Rinpoche. They served Rinpoche authentically while he was in Tibet, in solitary retreat for 19 years.
Since 2017 I have been under the guidance of Gyalten Ken Rinpoche and followed not only his teachings, served him, and listened his private advice, but I also was invited to be his personal assistant and travel the world.
I am so honored and grateful to be where I am today, and to be follower of such an amazing beings, whenever I close my eyes and think of them I can clearly hear and remember their words of wisdom.
